I earned my first dollar when I was in about 2nd grade. There was this older lady that lived by me (edited to add: Mrs. Mack) and she had a paper thrown every day. They would throw it on the ground and I would pick it up and put it on her door so that she would not have to bend down to get it.  I didn’t ask her for any money but one day I went over to visit her and she gave me 5 dollars.
