Qualities you like in adults – January 29, 1992

There are certain qualities that I admire in an adult. To me, a person should be able to listen with an open mind when someone has a problem. I like someone that will listen to what I have to say first and then make a judgment. I like for a person to tell me the truth and not try to spare my feelings and lie to me. If I didn’t want to hear the truth, I wouldn’t ask for someone’s opinion. It is hard for me to feel that I can talk to someone if they are quick to criticize without letting me get a word in. When I trust someone, I like to believe that they really care about what I say, and they are genuinely interested. I’m not saying I need them to think what I say is the only important thing, but I like sincerity. I don’t like someone that will argue over the shade of red on a shirt, but when they do, they believe what they stand up for.
