Wait! What’s this? A blog entry that has nothing to do with Geocaching? lol I’ll save that one for another entry! ;-p
Someone on a mailing list that I subscribe to posted a link to a YouTube trailer for something called the Post Secret Project. Basically, a couple of years ago, this guy started a web site and asked people to anonymously submit artistic interpreations of their innermost secrets on a postcard, some of which he would post on the blog. It caught on like wildfire and he has now published several books of the postcards he received. I was intrigued by the idea and had a look at his web site/blog which you can view at: http://postsecret.blogspot.com/
While I’ve only seen a small sampling so far, as a designer,I’m very intrigued by the idea of interpreting personal information into an artistic form, particularly with the constraints of a postcard’s size. And, as a human being, I’m very intrigued by the nature of what people would otherwise be afraid to share.
I’m definitely going to be picking up copies of the books both for artistic inspiration as well as the emotional inspiration I’m sure other people’s experiences will offer.
If anyone else is interested in ordering the books, here’s an Amazon search list, the top three of which are the Post Secret books:

Would love to hear if anyone owns or has read these books already!
