Task-o-Rama

Just a quick (hopefully) round-up of the day’s activities.

Got up and went for a walk at the park with Tracey. Came back and did a couple of quick things for Rennie, made yummy breakfast and Tracey headed out to work at noon and was supposed to only be gone for an hour.  She ended up having to stay there for six hours, but I made the most of the time she was gone and got some more small things cleared up.

I put away some dishes, scanned my new drawings in to add to my Picasa gallery, took out the trash and recycling and sent off an ad and some sign work for Rennie.  I also managed to take a bath and shave my legs before she got back.  It was the second day in a row where I really felt productive.

Funny enough, someone had called here around 9:00am and I was asleep so I didn’t know they’d called until later. I checked my voice mail and it was a lady calling from CRA. Guess they’re not too happy that I beat them to the punch on the RSP stuff.  I’ll call them on Monday.

The Rotorooter people that I sent out to Mom’s house ended up getting her drained cleared – thank God it wasn’t a root growing into the pipe outside! – so now she can get her kitchen cleaned up and can cook since she’ll be able to do dishes again.

I thought to ask her when I talked to her earlier what she used to do when she’d bring me rollerskating and she said she’d have some food from the snack bar and watch me and the other people skating and that we’d usually stay for around two hours.  She also remembered the black rollerskates with yellow wheels which she said she had taken to some consignment shop to sell and they apparently got stolen. Dragsters!  Would have been cool to try them out after all these years!

I also talked to my dad for a little while.  We talked about the election and he said they’re not voting because, since they’re some of the few white people in their area, they get called for jury duty constantly if they are registered to vote.  That sucks that they have to choose to not participate in the democratic process because of something like that.  But, apparently it was excessive the number of times they’d get called, so I can imagine I wouldn’t be into that either.  I showed him my new drawing (the dog portrait) and he said he thought they were pretty good, too.  I’m thinking of drawing it again and seeing if I can get both the body/head proportions right and also have the face and eye look like they should.  I like some things about each of the two versions I did, but am not totally happy with either one.

Battery’s dying, so gotta leave off here.  Laina just left at 2:30am and I’m tired!

Nighty night!

Tasks Accomplished: Took out trash/recycling, did a load of laundry (only one more to go), got mom’s drain fixed, sent ad and sign artwork off, deposited check from Shepa, went for a walk, did dumbbell exercises, updated Gracefully Erotic web site, updated GDC profile projects, updated CFX home page to link to new GDC profile URL, made some new connections on LinkedIn and sent them intro emails

I’m Grateful For: Clear weather, spending time with Tracey and Laina, having a little money in the bank, feeling productive

I Got Angry: When Tracey was micromanaging my driving (yet again) on the way back from the studio
