The Comeback Kid!

Man, tonight was exciting in the Democratic Primaries….Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island were up for grabs and, shocking as it is, Hillary carried three out of four, including Texas AND Ohio, both of which are huge feathers in her cap.  I bet she is saying TAKE THAT, BITCHES!!!  to all the naysayers who’ve been howling for her to pull out of the race so Obama can forge ahead for the nomination. This is the third time in the race that they’ve pretty much said she was about to be dealt the knockout blow and all three times she’s stepped up and delivered. GO HILLL!!!!!!   It’s been fun gloating a bit to Frank since he’s fully in the Obama camp – TRAITOR! – and he even wrote an entry in his journal dedicated to me, knowing how thrilled I’d be with Hill’s success in the contests tonight.  Oh, have I mentioned….GO HILLL!!!!!!

I got up today and dealt with a bunch of small and, for the most part, very annoying items for Rennie and Lynn and some weird display issue that’s going on with the Work the Pond web site which I suspect has something to do with new versions of browsers coming out and years-old code from their site.

Tracey and I got in a stupid squabble when she said she was going by her house before coming over here.  I had expected she’d come straight over after work so we could watch as much of the election coverage as possible and have maximum time to hang out before she had to go to bed.  I couldn’t get why she wouldn’t have just done whatever she needed to or brought whatever stuff she’d need with her so she wouldn’t have to stop by there and, for some reason, it just pissed me off.  It didn’t sound like a quick stop when she said it…more like an hour-long, waiting-for-traffic-to-die-down type of thing and it really hurt my feelings that she’d be more worried about avoiding traffic than making sure we saw each other for as long as possible when she got here since she would have to go to bed early.  Keep in mind that we’d only seen each other for about 2 hours on Sunday and that’s all since Friday morning. A few yelling match phone calls followed by repeated hanging up (which pisses me off more than anything!) later, we managed to get past the stupidity and she came over.

I went for a walk at the park again and stopped for a few minutes to feed the ducks pieces of a couple of multigrain rolls I had lying around the kitchen – better for them to get eaten by some appreciative creature than end up in the trash!  I didn’t get over to the park until after 5:00pm, so it was chilly and getting dark.

I finally managed to force myself to do the vacuuming, which I’ve been procrastinating on since the weekend, partially due to having hurt my back, which is still bothering me, more today than yesterday….wtf is up with that?  Perhaps the dumbbell exercises?  I’m sure dragging a vaccum cleaner back and forth throughout the whole house will definitely not help on that front, but at least it’s done now.

We watched the election coverage and I headed over to Dai Masu to grab some food with Laina, though it was more of a beer-grabbing event than food-related for me.  I’d already eaten before Laina got here so I just ate two pieces of a California Roll and had a Kokanee.  We stopped by SaveOn to grab some stuff and she dropped me off.

Gonna watch the ep of Rock of Love Season 2 that I downloaded last night and probably head to bed after that.  I’m ired-tay.

Here’s another quickie in the childhood hall of fame….When I was about 10 or 11, I would dress up in all black clothes and use a long-sleeved black shirt to create a ninja hood, using the head opening as the open eye area and tie the arms of the shirt behind my head to narrow the opening.  Pretty clever!  I remember playing hide-and-seek with some of the other kids at the apartment complex and one time I hid in some of the azalea bushes in the ninja outfit and no one ever found me because I was so well camouflaged! hahaha  I was totally into the ninja/Bruce Lee thing.  I had ninja and Bruce Lee movies – Revenge of the Ninja and Enter the Ninja ROCK! – and my dad even bought me a ninja “To” sword. My mom might very well still have it!  Her house is like a time capsule for all that was cool about my childhood! I always wanted to take karate lessons.  I actually signed up for one via Burnaby Parks & Recreation, but they didn’t have enough people enrolled, so they canceled it.  I’ll have to look it up again!

Tasks Accomplished: Submitted Southmere handout files to printer, fixed Lynn’s email templates and business cards, vacuumed the house, washed the dishes, went for a walk, picked up stuff from grocery store

I’m Grateful For: Hillary’s wins in the elections!!!, spending time with Tracey and Laina

I Got Angry: when Tracey kept hanging up on me when I was trying to explain why I was (perhaps mostly irrationally) upset, when Lynn kept calling with more and more crap re: her email template
