Today’s been another screwed-up-sleeping-schedule day. Was up til after 3:30am working on the stuff for PS and then couldn’t go to sleep for another hour and a half after that. When I finally crawled in bed a little after 5:00am, I had to prop a pillow in front of my face to block the light coming from the bedroom window. UGH.
I have to say that I am quite fascinated by Twitter. I have over 30 followers for Design Groupies today and I’ve sent out a few tweets and a couple of my friends have re-tweeted the stuff I sent to their followers, which has resulted in a few new followers for me. Pretty cool! I installed TweetDeck, so it’s like having a command center for this new-found hobby!
I was filling out a claim form for my insurance and messed up writing the address, so I went in my desk drawer looking for one of those liquid paper pen thingies to fix it. Next thing I know, I was taking all my mail out of the envelopes and putting those in the recycle bin, emptying the bins to be taken downstairs and cleaning out all my desk drawers of a bunch of crap that’s been piling up in there. Now, when I open the drawers I can actually see what’s in there and take things out without other things leaping forth and onto the ground. Me likey organization!
I wrote up a new blog entry for CFX for the list of free business directory sites that I had gathered and sent to Lynn. I figured it is something other people would be interested in and it sounds catchy. So, after I posted it, I tweeted the URL out to my CFX followers and Jackie Connelly promptly re-tweeted it to her followers, which is cool. I got a few new followers after she did that. Neato!
Have I mentioned that I am in full-on procrastination mode on the PS stuff I SHOULD be working on right now? AJ sent me some feedback and it still isn’t “risky” enough creatively, apparently, which is somewhat annoying. Wrote her back and told her I’m happy to keep working on it til we get it right but that, since it’s become a much more layout-oriented task, that I will have to make sure to bill accordingly. The initial idea was to just rip out the unnecessary pages from the main report to use for this, but it’s now an actual newsletter, which is very different. And, I’ve spent easily 8 hours on it already, which makes the $200 we discussed absolutely ridiculous – and it’s not even finished yet! ARGH.
I’m wondering why I intentionally do things I know will upset me re: my Mom. I was looking for the PDF of my claim form and saw my Mom’s death certificate PDF and opened it up and looked at it again. Why do I do this crap? I KNOW it’s going to upset me and I do it anyway! I think I am going to look into a grief support group. I just need to figure out how to deal with how I’m feeling and how to process the whole thing.
OK, so now my plan is to take out the trash, drop the claim form in the mail and then go for a walk at the park. THEN, maybe I’ll do some work. House is pretty much clean, so I won’t have that to do as a distraction, since I tidied up when I was doing my desk overhaul earlier.
With that, I’m off!
