Deidre sent me this list of questions, so I thought I’d paste in my answers:
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about One Another
1. If you were to choose a new name for yourself, what would it be?
I like masculine names for women, so it would probably be something like Michael Shayne.
2. If you were given an extra $10 in change at Walmart, what would you do with it and why?
I’d love to say that I would tell the cashier and give it back – and I have done that before. But, with money as hard as it is to come by, it’s hard for me to feel sorry for a giant corporation like WalMart over $10. I’d probably keep it and use it to by whatever I needed to get. Most likely groceries or household items.
3. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt from your past relationships?
I’ve learned what is important to me in a relationship – what I do and don’t want and the areas of compatibility that are key for me. Physical affection and verbal expression of emotions and love are very important for me to feel loved and appreciated in a relationship. I need to be with someone who is tidy – I cannot stand a messy environment and being with someone who is untidy puts me in a parent/child type of role which I resent. I also like someone who likes to cook. I have learned to be more patient (which is harder at some times than others). I have also learned to be OK in spending time alone, which was really hard for me when I was younger.
4. What’s one of your worst habits?
I am a world-class procrastinator. I’m also prone to negative thought patterns, which I’m trying to change.
5. What was the best day of the past week for you – why?
Probably Saturday. I felt pretty good and got out of the house a lot more than I have in a while.
6. What are you wearing today which is most reflective of who you are?
My snarky side says “a bra – because I’m a girl”. lol Jeans and a raglan tshirt. I like to be comfortable, am a bit sporty and am a casual person.
7. Choose a unique item from your wallet and explain why you carry it around.
I have 2 quarters that a lady downtown gave me when I bought some handmade bracelets from her. She said they would bring me luck.
8. If you could change one thing about your physical appearance what would it be and why?
I think I’d like to have a nicer butt! Pants would fit and look better if I had a li’l more junk in my trunk! hahahhaa I’d also love to have a flat stomach!
9. Share one of your most embarrassing moments.
I always have a hard time remembering embarrassing moments. One I can think of off-hand was at a design-related function I attended downtown. I saw someone there that I had met a couple of years prior at a networking meeting. I went up to him and said “Hey, Karl…” and later realized his name is Eric Karjaluoto. It had stuck in my head that people call him Karj, but I had forgotten it was his last name. I emailed him later to tell him I felt like an ass! lol
10. If you were given a million dollars and 24 hours to spend it in, (no depositing it in the bank or investing it) what would you buy?
I would pay off my Mom’s house, Deidre’s house, buy a house in Burnaby, a small car, pre-pay for a personal trainer and chef for as long as I could afford, build Emily a shelter for her cats and donate some to an anti-smoking initiative and the Heart Association.
