Sleepy Time

Monday, June 22, 2009 – 7:52am – The couch, Burnaby, BC

I need to sleep. I took a nap from about 10:30pm to midnight or so and got up to work on the revisions for PS. Worked on that til 4:00am and then was going to lie down to get a few hours of sleep before having to go to the meeting with Kevin and Kim at Pedersen’s. After I couldn’t fall asleep, I decided to email them and tell them I was sick – which I would be if I had to get up to go to that meeting after only a couple of hours of sleep! – and ask to reschedule the meeting.  I hate it when my hours get this turned around. Going to try to sleep for a few hours and then hopefully be able to stay up long enough to go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight.

I spent most of the weekend working on my Design Groupies site. I added some buttons so people can see how many times each post has been tweeted, re-did all the photos for all the posts so they’re all consistent and added some code to pull in a graphic header for each category of posts. Next, I have to add some other stuff to the right sidebar – social media icons and links, a search thing, etc.  I’ve been having fun with Twitter so far and I have 45 followers for Design Groupies now.  I’m also following Jane Fonda (whose blog I’ve also been reading – I REALLY like her), Pink, Marlee Matlin and just added Serena Williams. It’s a cool concept to get text messages on your cell phone from your fave celebs.

Went for walks at the park on Friday and Sunday, so at least I’m getting some exercise. I’ve also been taking a full 10mg of my meds for the past three days and I feel noticably better. I went to SaveOn earlier to get a few things – including that decadent Sticky Toffee Pudding Haagen Dazs ice cream! – and I didn’t really feel anxious while I was in there, so that in itself is progress.

Went out to see Lisa and Dale with Tracey on Saturday evening. It was good to see them, but Lisa was wasted and got mega-emotional with Tracey when we were leaving. Even I was uncomfortable with how much she kept hugging me. lol

Talked to my Dad for Father’s Day. He was telling me about the show True Blood so I’m going to check it out. He said it was over 100 degrees there – ugh. More reinforcement to my hesitation about living down there again. I cannot handle heat like that and I don’t want to be trapped inside for months on end.

Also talked to Pasha and Aunt Betty for a while. The Piggly Wiggly grocery store where Aunt Betty works had a fire and it’s going to take 4-6 months before they re-open the store.  She’s pretty worried about money and is looking for another part-time job to help her get by until the store re-opens or until she can take her retirement from there. I enjoyed talking to her.

Going to drink some milk so my blood sugar doesn’t tank while I’m asleep and make me feel like crap when I wake up.
