Bobbie J. Rowell

Bobbie J. Rowell, 80, of Heidelberg, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Comfort Care Nursing Center in Laurel.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery in Petal.

A retired homemaker, she had worked as a waitress at the former Manhattan Restaurant and the Town House Grill in Laurel. She kept a journal, enjoyed flower gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Betro and Verdie Hodge and her sister, Merlene Cranford.

Survivors include her husband, Marion Rowell of Heidelberg, two sons, Ben Franklin and wife Marlene of Heidelberg, Mike Franklin of Heidelberg; two daughters, Corlis Cockrell of North Augusta, S. C., and Janet Boone and husband Tom of Eight Mile, Ala.; one sister, Betty Lowe and husband Vernon of Lillian, Ala.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 Saturday evening at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
