What Goeth Down in the World of Moi

I just woke up a little while ago from a night of crazy dreams.  First, I was dreaming something about Verdie, yet again and she was lying in the bed and every time she fell asleep, we all thought she had died.  She kept getting annoyed that we’d go over and start shaking her or whatever to see if she was asleep or if she had died.  I think Mawmaw was in the dream, too.

Then, there was some weird part that had Rod – one of the transportation coordinators Tracey works with – in it and he had some huge truck and was picking us up or something.

Then, I had an even weirder dream where I was hanging out with my Dad and Marlene and they had caught some tiny baby whales or something (makes no sense, I know) and I was yelling and screaming because they didn’t want to let me put them back in the water.  I was screaming and crying because they were going to die.

Then, I was driving in a car and I think it was supposed to be in Montreal or something, but I ended up at a mall and saw a bunch of people who were Manon’s friends.  One of them I recognized by her voice and the other people started talking to me because I apparently knew them from when I lived in Montreal.

And, somewhere in there, I managed to have some sort of sex dream involving Kenny Gros (of high school years). Weird stuff, all around.

(Entry resumed later in the evening…)

I spent today piddling around the house mostly, did the requisite house chores – trash, cat box, vacuum, cleaning of the bathroom sink/counter/toilet  and general tidying up of things lying around.  I always feel better when that stuff is done.

Then, I went for a walk at the park and, wouldn’t you know it that I wouldn’t have my camera when the Hooded Mergansers came the closest to the edge of the pond that I’ve ever seen them – damnit!  There were a lot of people out at the park considering it was about 3pm on a chilly Sunday afternoon.  Felt good to get the exercise and the cool air doesn’t bother me – I find it easier to breathe.

I came back in, looked through one of my bird books to try to identify a new bird that I saw – looked like some sort of chickadee or similar with a stripe on its head, though I didn’t get a great look at it, so I’m not exactly sure on the specifics.  I took a bath and got dressed to go out and look for a new fan since mine bit the dust last night when I tried to turn it on.  The power was going to it, but I guess the motor burned out or something because it just wouldn’t spin. Who knows.  As soon as something like that happens, I throw them out – fire hazard!

So, I went to Zeller’s to see if I could find one there and they had nothing, so I went to Home Depot next.  I filled up at the Shell station near Hwy. 1 and then headed through the Drive-Thru at McD’s for a quick snack (hadn’t really eaten anything but pie and chips all day) and then over to HD.  They had a fan but they were all bundled up in skids at the top of the shelves, so I had to plead with the guy to get one down for me – I can’t sleep with no fan two nights in a row!  Also, it masks some of the noise of what’s going on in the living room when Tracey is sleeping, so I can watch TV or talk on the phone or whatever without waking her up, so it really works twofold – threefold if you count the fact that it circulates the air so the heat can be on without it becoming a nosebleed-inducing sauna in the middle of the night.

While I was waiting for the guys to bring the fan down from the rafters, I picked out a cute pre-decorated mini Christmas tree – actually an Alberta Spruce in a little plastic terracotta pot.  It had a few little shiny plastic balls on it and I filled in the gaps with some decorations from my miniature silver tree that I’ve had for the past two years.  Hopefully, the cats won’t destroy it before I get to enjoy it for a while!  I would like to manage to not kill it and then put it in a large pot outside when it gets warm again. Good luck on that one!  It’s hard to keep an evergreen alive indoors because of the warm, dry heat.  I shall do my best!

Tracey came home from work and we had pizza and watched the Saints game while I did a couple of loads of laundry.  The Saints won by a landslide against Carolina – 31-6, which was a nice change from the previous two losses we had to endure!

The laundry seemed to go more quickly and was way less irritating this time around – maybe because the pile wasn’t so mountain-like to start with.  The one drawback was that I had probably half a dozen items that wouldn’t fit in the two loads I did, so those are still in the basket.  That sort of thing bugs me because it takes away my “the laundry is done” sense of satisfaction when I take the initiative to actually do the laundry – damnit!  But, the sheets, duvet cover and the cat blanket are all clean, so that’ll feel good to sleep under.

I’ll do a week update post separate from this one as I don’t want it to cause anyone wrist injury just to scroll to the bottom.

Funny thing, I saw Frank on his webcam last night.  Was weird to see him because he has lost so much weight and, with his short haircut and lack of a shirt, he sorta looked like a scary serial killer type until he enabled his mic.  His voice kills the whole murderous thing pretty quick. haha  I love me some Frankie!
