Prezzies from Lezzies

Laina left a little while ago.  We had a nice visit…chowed down some yummy grub from Mr. Ho – Lemon Chicken RULES! – and watched the first episode of Celebrity Apprentice.  I hereby predict that Gene Simmons will win the whole thing.  For all his stupid chauvinistic antics and hairstyle-challenged look, he’s a friggin’ brilliant businessman.  I would be seriously shocked if he doesn’t kick the shit out of all the other stupid celebs that haven’t done shit compared to his marketing/merchandising genius.

We also watched two episodes of Scott Baio is 45 and Single.  I don’t know why I like reality shows so much.  Perhaps it’s because it’s sort of like a TV version of a biography-in-the-making.  I figure it’s a fun blend of entertainment, biography and, sometimes, you learn a little something along the way from other people’s foibles.

Laina and I exchanged presents, though she already knew that I had gotten her that friggin’ shower curtain, so I gave her the receipt so she could go get something else since Tracy already bought her one just like it.  I also gave her the $20 card they gave me when I bought it, plus the pack of gum I had to buy to make it an over $50 purchase before tax to get the card in the first place.  She was pretty excited about it, even though she already has one. She kept going on about how cool it was that I’d buy that for her and how it was the thought that counts.  Wow…someone that actually thinks that way! lol  She also was pretty happy with the collapsible collander, though, if you can friggin’ believe it, she just bought herself one just like it tonight!  She said Tracy had bought her the small version and she took it back to exchange for the larger one.  She said, though, in this case, she’s going to keep the one I bought her and return the one she bought. LOL  Too friggin’ funny!

My first present was the Tori Amos biography book, In Pieces.  I was so stoked about it, since I didn’t realize it was really a biography book.  I’m always going on about how I like reading biographies, so it was a very thoughtful gift.  Next, she got me the VIP edition of the movie Showgirls.  I had seen it before and thought it was funny…comes with two shot glasses and a “pin-the-pasties-on-the-showgirl” game, complete with blindfold and suction-cup pasties.  Next was a 2008 Georgia O’Keeffe calendar which I’ll definitely slice and dice to make mini prints out of the months’ paintings that I really like.  The final present was a cool art bulletin board that has a quote on it about imagine what you could do if you knew you couldn’t fail that’s in the same style as those large prints that I saw at Home Outfitters that I really liked that look like those old-style hand-painted signs but they have inspirational quotes on them.  All in all, a good haul, if I do say so myself!

Need to get some sleep now!
