I’m not sure why, but I’ve had a bitch of a headache for the better part of this week. I keep thinking perhaps it has something to do with sitting at my not-remotely-ergonomic desk so much while working this week. I need to do something about that because it makes me not want to work when I know I’m going to have a hellacious headache from sitting there.
My mom phoned at 11am and woke me up, but I didn’t answer. Decided to go ahead and get up and the headache was already in place by then. Wondering if it’s something to do with how I’m sleeping or maybe the teeth-clenching thing is contributing. Who knows…all I can say is that it sucks and makes me not want to do ANYTHING.
I managed to get up and head over to the park. I brought the rest of the duck food that was left in the huge bag I had bought – man it lasted a while for $13! – along with half a loaf of bread and the overdone biscuits I made last night. The squirrels were happy to see me coming with food for them for a change! I stopped and fed the chickadees out of my hand. My god, those things are so cute and irresistably sweet. There’s no way you can have tiny birds land on your hand to take bread crumbs from you and be in a bad mood. Absolutely impossible! One of them stayed for probably 10 seconds or so and hopped up to the cuff of my jacket sleeve and pecked at the snap a couple of times before he figured out that wasn’t a snack! I LOVE THE BIRDIES!
I also saw a new bird I’d not seen before. There were several of them foraging around on the ground and in some of the small trees just off the trail. I stayed long enough to look at them closely so I could get a good idea of their markings so I could look them up in my bird book when I got back. The name of the bird is a Varied Thrush. They look similar to a robin, but have an orange stripe over their eye and a black “bib” below their throat on the breast. Pretty!
I had wanted to clean up my patio which is a total disaster thanks to half a dozen uncarved pumpkins (only one of which, thankfully, has started to rot) and a bag ofbirdseed that some hungry critter managed to tear open and make a huge mess with on the ground. The landlord posted a notice on the back door coming into the building saying people who have satellites must remove them or they will be removed by the management company. Also, they said we’re not allowed to use our patio for storage. Tables/chairs are OK but no BBQs. WTF!?!? I’m so sick of renting and their restrictions are getting more and more ridiculous. A while back, they told us we couldn’t have doormats in front of our front doors. This was mostly as a result of some people having shitty pieces of carpet remnants in front of their place or bath mats or shit like that. But, I had a really nice coco straw mat which I brought inside, but that sucks that we can’t even have a friggin doormat! I mean, come ON!
Also need to change the stank-ass catbox. God, I loathe doing that! I guess I’ll just have to get to the few things I need to do in here – aforementioned stuff plus vacuuming and fish tank water change) maybe tomorrow evening. I’m supposed to go to Tracey’s for the night and we’re going to watch the Super Bowl at her house tomorrow, so I guess I’ll have to do it tomorrow when I get back here or else, at the latest on Monday when I get up.
When’s the next three day weekend??????
