Feelin’ Good

Just got back from a walk at the park with Tracey. Did some dumbbell exercises.  Feeling pretty good physically. I never had any idea how losing just 10lbs. would make such a difference in how my clothes fit and how I feel about myself. I think my boobage has shrunk a bit…tried on some bras yesterday and neither a B nor a C fit properly – what’s up with that!  Am I a B 1/2 now? lol

We went down to Bellingham for the day yesterday. Didn’t really get much – just a few groceries and stuff from Walmart. I mailed the collectible coffee cup Tracey gave me for Dad. It was styled to have some of the look of a Dodge Challenger. Hope he likes it.  Had good Mexican food at El Mexico. Watched some episodes of Veronica Mars that Tracey bought on DVD. It’s a pretty good show so far.  Of course, the main character TOTALLY reminds me of a combination of Chloe from Smallville and Ellen Page’s character in Juno.  Weirder still is that Veronica’s new love interest is the guy that plays Jimmy Olson on Smallville – who Chloe is dating.  So, it’s almost like those two characters have been plucked from Smallville and put in another show with different names. Weird. Would be even weirder if it was the same actress, but it’s not….but, they’re so similar, it’s not much of a leap to be thinking of Chloe watching this one!

Laina sent me an email from Rochester yesterday. Guess she didn’t really get the hint that I don’t really want to talk to her for the moment.  Bottom line is that I can’t help but get sucked into the crap going on in the lives of the people I care about (particularly when it’s self-destructive, stupid stuff), so when they won’t respect my boundaries about not wanting to talk about certain things, I just can’t be around them.

Going to a meeting later where Carl deJong, one of the guys I see at the networking events all the time, says he’s going to introduce me to a bunch of people. I saw him on Tuesday morning and he said “How’s it going?” and I told him it’d been dead for several months and I was freaking out. He called me yesterday and asked me what he could do to help. I told him I need to make more contacts, so he invited me to the annual general meeting of the Burnaby Board of Trade (which is across the street from Metrotown, so it’s within walking distance) where he said there’s going to be a lot of people.  I may switch my membership from the Richmond Chamber to the Burnaby Board of Trade because a) I live in Burnaby b) I work in Burnaby and c) it’s close enough for me to actually get involved if I want, so I’d actually get something out of my membership.

Going to a client prospect meeting tomorrow with the guy I met a few weeks ago from one of my email introductions. The client needs new branding for a new restaurant concept they’re doing. They own a chain of really popular Chinese restaurants here and they contacted me because they liked what I did for that Red Pepper Thai restaurant – the one where the guy skipped out on me and never even reimbursed me the $500 I shelled out of my own pocket to pick up AND DELIVER some printing I had done for him. What a schmuck. Would be cool if I end up with a project because they liked what I did from him. Would at least make it worth it to have done it anyway.

Need to get a shower!
