It’s been simply ages since I wrote in here and tons of shit has happened since then. We’re in Vancouver now, living with Andree and have been here since the beginning of July. It’s been quite a rollercoaster of a stay and I’m more than ready to get my own apartment again. Every time I go to the storage place, I feel a small amount of comfort just being around my stuff. How weird that material things could ever have such a calming effect seems weird.
Manon’s working at Staples and I’m still on the lookout for a job for her doing what she’s trained to do. It upsets me that she’s had to step down into this job. Hell, we thought Ameri-Source was bad for pay and shit, but at least she was doing what she went to school for. The guys from up there have called here for her a couple of times, which I think is so cool. I’m just hoping that talking to them again won’t make her feel even more like she’s made the wrong decision in coming here. I could never have dreamed that it would take so long to get her a real job here. Hopefully, though, it won’t be much longer and she’ll find something. God knows I’ve sent her resume out to enough friggin’ places. Surely there’s gotta be at least ONE bite out of all the ones I’ve sent.
Work seems to be picking up for me lately, which makes me happy and a bit less stressed about things. I’m waiting on a couple of payments from Larry Sciacchetano and Michael George, though, which aren’t getting here quick enough for my taste. I’m waiting on those so we can get an apartment of our own. Speaking of work, I got an email from Amy Schell at HOW Design Books telling me that some of my work got accepted to be included in the Corporate ID book that they’re doing. I’m so stoked about that….I really feel like I’m starting to move forward in my career. It really makes me want to go to Emily Carr even more now!
Well, I came on here to work and have ended up typing in here instead…..now, I’m sleepy and am off to bed.
Nighty, night!
