Dog Day Afternoon

Thursday, June 18, 2009 – 10:43pm – Couch York City – Burnaby, BC

I have done zero in the work department today. I didn’t get to sleep until 4:15am last night and had to get up to go for my appointment with Beverley just before 9:00am. It was brutal getting up with so little sleep. I felt like I was sleep-walking when I was there and I was feeling pretty anxious. I didn’t even stay for the whole session. I left around 10:40am and Tracey came to pick me up.

I told Beverley that I seem to be somewhat oblivious to positive progress and more focused on the negatives. She said that I should practice mindfulness at least five minutes a day and also at least trying to think in neutral terms, if I can’t muster being positive about things.

Tracey and I went to Green Basil for lunch and then she dropped me off at home. I kept Delta for her while she went to get a haircut at Metrotown. I walked over and met her at SaveOn to pick up some groceries and we hung out here and had a nice salad and BBQ sausage dogs for dinner before she left for work. I tried to get a nap earlier when she was at Metrotown but, between the cats clawing under the bedroom door to get out (they were exiled there for the afternoon) and the dog waking up and needing to go outside, I didn’t manage to get any shut-eye.

Emily called and I talked to her a while. I’m going to set up a WordPress site for her for her Cats Diaries idea. She wants to post stories from the point of view of some of the cats in her rescue group. I think it’s cool. She said that I got a letter in the mail from USDA/RHS saying that the house note is going up to $750 starting in August because of the escrow account. Holy shit!  I told her I feel bad because it wasn’t that much when we set up this arrangement. I’ll have to figure out something. I don’t want her straining herself to keep the note and stuff paid down there. I have to call USDA and ask them about changing the name on the account. I’m a little worried about it, even though Debbie told me what the lawyer from USDA said and that it should be fine.

Just woke up a little while ago from an almost two-hour nap. Very sorely needed sleep there!  I have to find the motivation to drag my ass off the couch and work on the stuff for PS since I got nothing done today.

I’m fascinated by Twitter since Jim convinced me to sign up. I sent a message to the HOW list with my new Twitter usernames and now I have 23 people following Design Groupies and about 15 so far following CFX Creative. Neato.

Gotta get up and get something to eat. My stomach’s a-growlin’.
